Annette J. Miller, LMT opened Indigo Therapeutic Massage & Body Works in 2003 after returning from 15 years living in Los Angeles. Her vision is to create a safe and inspiring environment for everyone to enjoy while bringing "a little bit of L.A. home to Defiance."

After scoring in the 96th percentile on the Ohio Medical Board Anne received her Massage Therapy license and has continued to pursue additional certifications consistently. She is certified in over 50 different areas of massage, yoga and skin care. Her dedication to continuing education is reflected in her frequently updated service offerings contributing to a unique experience for each client.

In 2007, Anne received certification in Ashiatsu massage and is the only therapist in Northwest Ohio offering this unique therapeutic service. Ashiatsu is a combination of Ancient Thai and Indian massage wherein the massage is conducted with the therapist's feet creating the opportunity for longer massage stroked down the length of the body as well as a broad spectrum of deep tissue therapy with a delightfully relaxing pressure. If you haven't visited Indigo for an Ashiatsu massage, it is certainly something to try!

Each treatment at Indigo is personally tailored to your individual needs. Anne and her team work diligently to assure each client receives a completely unique experience. Never will you receive a "box massage" at Indigo nor will you have exactly the same experience twice as your needs are rarely the same from one visit to the next.

Anne works closely with several chiropractors and neurologists to provide specified therapeutic care as needed and personally assesses each of her clientsto ensure their treatment provides them with the maximum benefit possible.

Anne's vision to create a truly inspiring and artistic environment is also reflected in the artists who proudly show their work in the unique Indigo Gallery, as well as the yoga instructors and massage therapists working with Indigo to provide the highest level of service.

As a result of Anne's desire to provide her clients with the finest products, Indigo now proudly offers Dermalogica, skin care designed by the Dermalogic Institute. She and her team regularly attend training workshops to provide each client with the latest knowledge and service while assessing their individual skin care needs. The products are fantastic and Anne offers free Skin Mapping to everyone to ensure they are using exactly the right products for their skin.

“Past our City Limits”
An Art Show and Charity Event
On Friday, July 11 from 6-9 pm, Indigo will be hosting “Past Our City Limits.” Local Artists including Jesse Rivera, Josh Zipful, Hollie Treetop, Nora Sallows, Casey Spitnale, and Damaris “Dee” Morales, will be featured. Food will be provided as well as live music from local musicians. These musicians include Eliud Arce, Sarah Hobbs, Luke Mitchell, Matt Steele and Nick Witter, Eli Tracy and Dickies, and Adam Brooks. Not only will this event be entertaining, it is also for a good cause. The event is being held to raise awareness and funds for building fresh water wells in Africa. It is sure to be a great even that you don’t want to miss. So please join us for some great art for a great cause.

Jesse Rivera was born in Defiance and had a Christian education in Northwest Ohio. After high school he interned for a missions organization in Texas then attended Bible College in Florida before pursuing further education in North Carolina.

Jesse's life is simple. He believes life is about two things: loving God and loving those around him. He travels the world whenver possible to volunteer in Medical Clinics and orphanages.

Jesse paints in bold acrylics with glowing colors. Bold black outlines and interpretive proportions depict his dreams, fears and the sober realities of life. They are the stories of his life and the lifes of those he has met along the way. Jesse's work is rich with deep meaning and strong emotion but presents itself with childlike innocence and playfulness.

"I know that what I do is not clothing for the naked or food for the hungry, but it is the passion of my heart. I believe my work will facilitate the other desires I have already used this gift to travel abroad and to support those already there. Our world is filled with social injustice but we can make a difference if we all do something. Painting is my something." - Jesse Rivera

God bless.
