Annette J. Miller, LMT opened Indigo Therapeutic Massage & Body Works in 2003 after returning from 15 years living in Los Angeles. Her vision is to create a safe and inspiring environment for everyone to enjoy while bringing "a little bit of L.A. home to Defiance."

After scoring in the 96th percentile on the Ohio Medical Board Anne received her Massage Therapy license and has continued to pursue additional certifications consistently. She is certified in over 50 different areas of massage, yoga and skin care. Her dedication to continuing education is reflected in her frequently updated service offerings contributing to a unique experience for each client.

In 2007, Anne received certification in Ashiatsu massage and is the only therapist in Northwest Ohio offering this unique therapeutic service. Ashiatsu is a combination of Ancient Thai and Indian massage wherein the massage is conducted with the therapist's feet creating the opportunity for longer massage stroked down the length of the body as well as a broad spectrum of deep tissue therapy with a delightfully relaxing pressure. Each treatment at Indigo is personally tailored to your individual needs. Anne and her team work diligently to assure each client receives a completely unique experience. Never will you receive a "box massage" at Indigo nor will you have exactly the same experience twice as your needs are rarely the same from one visit to the next.

Anne works closely with several chiropractors and neurologists to provide specified therapeutic care as needed and personally assesses each of her clientsto ensure their treatment provides them with the maximum benefit possible.

She and her team regularly attend training workshops to provide each client with the latest knowledge and service while assessing their individual skin care needs. Prenatal classes offer a place of refuge where women learnt to connect with their bodies, their babies, and each other. Asana yoga prepares them physically for giving birth, but most women find that the awareness of body, mind, and breath that it teaches is what truly helps them when it’s time for them to deliver. Cultivating a bond is a big part of most prenatal classes. Our clients are encouraged to get to know one another, introduce themselves, give related aches and pains. Often our clients find that their jitters are best soothed by those women in class who are going through similar issues or who have had previous experience. Whether your birth is traditional or C- section, prenatal yoga can help you prepare, accept, and fulfill the act of giving birth with confidence. We ask that if you decide to join us that you bring a note from you doctor.

Tyler Reed began practicing Yoga in 1999. He has been certified after completing a 200+ hour training session with Laurel Hodory in Columbus, Ohio. Tyler believes that all yoga instruction should be provided with competence and compassion. Tyler, born and raised in Napoleon High School and a graduate from Defiance College, spent most of his adult life heavily drinking and smoking. He has successfully used yoga and meditation to transform his life, re-focusing on the positive and health-conscious aspects of human potential. Here at Indigo, we are very excited to feature Tyler as a guest instructor on Saturday, July 12. This class is sure to be relaxing and refreshing. As a special note, Tyler’s class will be our last Saturday yoga class for the summer.

Jesse combines expressionism with philanthropy in his brilliant-hued paintings which tell the tales of his experiences traveling the world. Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, Jesse worked with a Texas Mission Group after high school before attending Bible college then furthering his education in North Carolina. He travels internationally as often as possible to help those less fortunate in medical clinics and orphanages. His paintings are a lyrical expression of his experiences, the people he meets in his travels, and the places he's seen. A Toledo native, Rebecca moved to Defiance in 2004 and renovated a turn-of-the-century church to become studio and home for she and her husband of 15 years.

Rebecca's acrylic paintings are aerial view representations of the New Mexico landscape as well as expressionistic portraits of the other creative people she's met in her life. In addition to painting, she creates one-of-a-kind jewelry crafted using natural gemstones and unique materials.

Her newest venture includes her partner Jon M Spencer. They are embarqing on a new arts, entertainment and lifestyle magazine featuring the arts in Northwest Ohio called Serum Magazine.
